Adedapo Idowu’s Inspiring Story of Determination and Pursuit of Education

In a remarkable display of determination, 94-year-old Adedapo Idowu has registered for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

A Dream Fulfilled at an Advanced Age

Idowu expressed his excitement, saying, “I can now attain my dream at an advanced age.” He praised the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for making the registration process seamless.

Commendation for JAMB’s Registration Process

Idowu commended JAMB for integrating the National Identity Number (NIN) for easy data collection. He believes this has helped eliminate discrimination against the elderly, underprivileged, and people with disabilities.

A Record-Breaking Registration

The UTME registration process began on January 31, and over 700,000 candidates have registered so far, including 11,000 underage applicants.
