The Barau I Jibrin Foundation has announced the Domestic Postgraduate Scholarship Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session. This programme will provide scholarships for 300 graduates to pursue postgraduate studies in selected Nigerian universities. The initiative focuses on supporting students in science and technology fields, aiming to nurture research and academic development.

Selected Universities

Recipients will study at the following universities:

Bayero University, Kano
Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
University of Ibadan
University of Nigeria, Nsukka
Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife
University of Lagos

The scholarship covers the following postgraduate programmes:

M.Sc. Artificial Intelligence
M.Sc. Robotics Technology
M.Sc. Cyber Security
M.Sc. Data Science
M.Sc. Information Technology
M.Sc. Software Development
M.Sc. Mineral Exploration
M.Sc. Hydrogeology and Environmental Geology
M.Sc. Oil and Gas Operations
M.Sc. Applied Geophysics
M.Sc. Metallurgical and Material Engineering
M.Sc. Climate Change Management
M.Eng. Mechatronics
M.Eng. Intelligence Systems

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

Be under 35 years old at the time of application.
Hold a first degree in Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale.
Have five O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics.

Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age
Primary and Secondary School Certificates (WAEC/NECO)
Bachelor’s Degree Certificate
NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter
Local Government and State Indigene Certificates
Official Transcript
Letter of Motivation
