JAMB Announces Additional States for 2025 UTME Optional Mock Exam
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the remaining states with available slots for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) optional mock examination. These states include Gombe, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Plateau, Sokoto, Taraba, and Yobe. Candidates interested in taking the mock examination in these states are advised to select their examination towns accordingly.
JAMB also issued a warning to candidates against “desperately selecting examination towns” when registering for the mock exam. The Board observed that some candidates are choosing towns that are far from their residences and states, which could lead to confusion or complaints once they are assigned to a town.
“The mock examination is only meant to provide candidates with a feel of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) environment. Once a town’s capacity is reached, it will no longer be available for selection,” said Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s spokesperson.
In addition to this, the Board reminded candidates to be conscious of their town selections, keeping in mind travel logistics to ensure a smoother experience on the examination day.
The mock exam will take place on March 7, 2025, and the main UTME examination is scheduled for April 18-28, 2025.
Candidates are encouraged to make informed choices about their examination towns to ensure a hassle-free process.
