Governor Makinde Reaffirms Commitment to Advancing Education at ISAF 2025 Conference
Oyo Governor, Seyi Makinde, has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to advancing education both locally and internationally. He emphasized that education is a crucial pillar of his government and highlighted efforts to improve primary, secondary, and tertiary education in the state.
Makinde’s Message at ISAF 2025
At the International Study Abroad Fair (ISAF) 2025, held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Makinde was represented by his Chief of Staff, Chief Segun Ogunwuyi. The event carried the theme, “Global Mastery, Local Impact: Empowering Minds Through International Education.”
International Education for Economic Growth
In his keynote address titled “Harnessing International Education Experience for Local Economic Development,” Governor Makinde highlighted the importance of international education. He emphasized that studying abroad is not just about obtaining a degree but also about gaining exposure to new ideas, enhancing knowledge, mastering advanced skills, and building global networks.
The Need for Local Impact
Governor Makinde stressed that while foreign education is valuable, it is essential for young people to return home and apply the skills they have acquired to contribute to the country’s development. He encouraged students to make a positive impact on the local economy by using their knowledge and experience.
Collaboration with Foreign Investors
The governor also mentioned that the Oyo State Government will continue to collaborate with foreign investors in the education sector. This collaboration aims to create pathways for partnerships and increase investment in education to further enhance the state’s educational systems
