JAMB Announces New Book for 2025 UTME Use of English, Provides Registration Guidance

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced The Lekki Headmaster by Kabir Alabi Garba as the recommended text for the Use of English in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In an announcement on X (formerly Twitter), JAMB advised candidates to remain alert for updates on the UTME and Direct Entry (DE) registration processes, which are yet to commence.

  • National Identification Number (NIN): Candidates must obtain their NIN.
  • Phone Number: Candidates should use a phone number not previously linked to JAMB registration. For those under 18, JAMB advises using a parent’s or guardian’s number to facilitate easier retrieval in case of SIM card loss or damage.
JAMB also stressed the importance of safeguarding the unique identification card issued during registration, as it is irreplaceable. Candidates who lose their cards are advised to act swiftly to recover them.
