JAMB 2025 Registration Surpasses 420,000 as UTME Approaches

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Is-haq Oloyede, announced that over 420,000 candidates have successfully registered for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as of February 11, 2025. He made this statement after monitoring Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers in Ilorin, Kwara State.

JAMB expects up to 2 million candidates to register this year. The registration began on February 3, 2025, and will end on March 8, 2025. This year, only candidates above the age of 16 are eligible for the UTME, following a directive from the Minister of Education. Additionally, 124,632 candidates have registered for the mock UTME.

Oloyede also confirmed the blacklisting of six individuals for life due to alleged exam malpractice and mentioned that one senior university official is under prosecution for an exam-related crime.
