JAMB Issues Guidelines for Candidates on Selecting Exam Towns for 2025 UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has advised candidates preparing for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to make thoughtful decisions when selecting their exam towns. The board highlighted the importance of considering factors like travel logistics and convenience to avoid any issues on exam day.
JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, clarified that the board does not assign candidates to specific exam towns, nor does it dictate locations for the optional mock examinations. He also pointed out that a significant percentage of available spaces for the mock exams have already been filled, leaving only a few states with remaining slots.
States such as Gombe, Kano, and Yobe have some remaining spaces for the optional mock exam. Candidates interested in participating are urged to select towns in these states to secure a spot.
While candidates have the freedom to choose their preferred exam towns, JAMB cautioned that they should factor in travel distances and the feasibility of reaching the designated locations. The board emphasized that it cannot be held responsible for any challenges arising from candidates’ selections of far-off towns or states.
