JAMB Registrar Assures Brilliant Candidates of Equal Opportunities

The Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, has assured brilliant candidates that the board will not shut its door against them. While monitoring the ongoing registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Lagos, Oloyede confirmed that over 780,202 candidates have registered nationwide, with 11,512 of them being underaged.

Smooth Registration Process

The JAMB boss noted that the registration process has been smooth, with the board categorizing candidates into A, B, or C. He also emphasized the age limitation of 16 years, which was implemented last year, and created an opportunity for exceptionally underaged candidates.

Payment to CBT Centers

Oloyede commended stakeholders for ensuring a smooth exercise in the 856 CBT centers nationwide and revealed that the board has paid over N400 million to approved CBT centers.

New Registration Record

He also stated that the board has set a new record with the registration of over 80,000 candidates daily, surpassing the initial target of 60,000.

No Extension of Registration Deadline

However, Oloyede insisted that the board will not extend the registration deadline, as the process is going smoothly and the target is being surpassed.
