The Underrated Excellence of FUTA: A Personal Opinion (Shared by Nkechi Bianze)

I recently came across a thought-provoking post on Facebook shared by Nkechi Bianze, and I felt compelled to reflect on it. In her post, Nkechi, although not an alumnus of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), expressed a personal admiration for the quality of graduates from this institution.

While rankings and ratings of universities are often debated, Nkechi’s perspective is personal, drawn from her interactions with Nigerian university graduates. She pointed out that, unlike graduates from some other institutions who may leave you questioning their academic competence, no FUTA graduate has ever made her feel that way.

This perspective resonates with me as well. I too have encountered many FUTA graduates who seem well-prepared, highly capable, and a true reflection of the strong academic foundation the university offers.

It’s worth noting that Nkechi did not graduate from FUTA nor did she attend university in Nigeria. Nevertheless, her honest assessment based on years of meeting and observing Nigerian university graduates speaks volumes about the quality of education at FUTA.
